Our poor country, the Philippines is all done with all kinds of politician but never an Engineer. In cognizant of MMDA Road King Bayani Fernando’s bid to become one, indeed we need one but not and never should be the likes of him.
If he will be (doubtfully) the first Engineer to become our President (yaiks!) and continue with his violation of International Traffic Laws- Signs and Codes, continue blocking and sub-dividing roadways with hazardous concrete blocks- bereft with safety warnings- reflectors, caution signages and traffic lights, an engineer who keeps on juggling traffic on the same limited road hoping for a better traffic- what kind of engineering is this?
As a Mechanical Engineering degree holder myself, I should be proud to just being able to relate to him degree-wise, but I really don’t seem to understand the man. His re-invention of new color codes with his preference for blue and pink colors- is this his way to show his labor of love and affection or some kind of dedication to his wife? Nuts! Is this going to be our country’s identity color code? Bullshit! If we cannot even follow the basic standards of traffic how can we pursue something more perfect or just even better.
If he can just allow busses to go overspeeding to keep up with his desired traffic flow- making it even a point of argument amongs our Senate legislators then this man is crazy। Although I admire the man for winning the singing contest in the Celebrity Duet, as it is typical for Engineers to love Karaoke Bars and spend Happy Hours with collegues after a hard days work. Let’s leave it that way- let Metro-manila alone carry the burden of a government under an Engineer Fernando.
If we need an Engineer to be our country’s President, then we need someone who will DESIGN AND BUILD a mass Flying Vertical Landing and Take-off (VTOL) Cars to augment the country’s shortages in road, bridges and highways that is limiting our movement for progress. Someone who has the technology to closely knit together our countrymen from isolation and despair- those who up to now despite the advent of ALTERNATIVE ENERGY INNOVATIONS from the sun and wind which can provide off-grid power are still wallowing in darkness, therefore sowing rebellion and planting drugs to fight poverty as they are left on their own and neglected by stupid technocrats of government.
We need an engineer who knows how to OFFSET wrongful business sense of government from pocketing country coffers, an engineer who can DO THE MATH to balance the bloated profits of Employers and Company Owners to share some and increase the salary of their workers- which is the real solution to our country’s wealth gap- to spread the wealth and promote active commerce for people with more buying power. We need an Engineer, who can think of filtration to mitigate devastating lahar flow. That we need an engineer-leader who can SET-UP INDUSTRIES WITH OUR INVENTIONS to become the capitalist who have tangential products to sell in the global marketplace and thus earn real green money not just KEEP BORROWING MONEY AND ASKING FOREIGN AIDS and pay it with our countrymen’s remittance borne out of their blood, sweat, tears, loneliness and sacrifices who were subliminally pushed and sold by government to earn dollars abroad as Professionals, Domestic Workers, Slave-Nurses, Skilled Laborers, Entertainers and Whores which ironically had improved other countries and left us too far behind as we succumbed to be the servants and can’t afford buyers of the world. And our country are left with dumb bells- dummies, squatters, corrupt politicians, hustlers, cheaters, bums, stingy operatives, freeloaders, parentless kids and broken families to carry-on with the vicious cycle of our de-more-erratic systems of government.
So, this country really needs an engineer, and a super-engineer at that! Engineers like.. an Engineer like me.. maybe? (NLOL-not laughing out loud)
